When I was fifteen, sixteen, when I really started to learn English,
I definitely wanted to become a teacher.
It was almost impossible because the dream was so big.
I didn’t see any chance because I was living in a little town; I was studying.
And when I finally broke away from school to go to Rennes 2,
I thought, “Well, now I may have a little bit of a chance,”
Because all I really wanted to do is English – and not only speak English, but teach English. At that time, in France, in 2010 - 2011, they wanted to destroy the IUFM.
So, I would take my car, would go to the IUFM and try to listen for at least 20/30 minutes in class. I think I had about seven, eight teachers. I would partially sleep in class because nothing was about didactics and how to teach, and that didn’t help me for about almost two years to survive in the beginning.I wanted to write a blog about the job of the teachers, and then have some reactions maybe. And I said, “Wait a second…I know Twitter – why don’t I use Twitter which is the web of the future?” And I didn’t have any idea what to do, but I knew I needed a click so I created an account which then was synched to my smartphone. I knew that it could be a thing of the future but I didn’t realise how much the impact it would be.
My name is Monsieur Le Prof, but everybody calls me Monsieur.
